Hello,
I am a member on a rather small Amabile
family at Mexico. We are around...30.
Apparently, we are somehow related to other
Amabile's in Cuba, but I do not know more
about the origins of this name. Can somebody
tell me more?

Thanks,

Carlos Amabile

I am very surprised to hear about Amabiles in Mexico and Cuba.I was quite sure it was a strictly Italian name. All the Amabiles I know are from the province of Salerno in Italy. All my grandparents and my father were born in the town of St.Arsenio, Italy.
It is a beautiful name that means "lovable".
There are many Amabiles in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.
Let me know if you find out anything.
Catherine

I am trying to find info on a Caroline Amabile who married a Costabile Cipullo around 1888. Anyone who can assist in this search out there?

sorry but neither name sounds familiar.
most amabile's come from Sant'Arsenio in Province of Salerno, Italy.
Have you tried the site of The Church of the Latter Day Saints?

I have been told that the name Amabile is Italian and Spanish. I am a Amabile through marriage, my husband grandfather came from Italy to New York and moved to Mass. after he learned to plaster. My husband plasters and he is hoping that his three sons will one day plaster.

I am working on the Cipullo family and have a Costabile Cipullo son of Louis Alfhonso and Sadie L. (Santacroce) Cipullo. He was born abt 1926 though...possibly it is the same family and a common family name?
