Hi Michael

I came across your posting by accident. We have a common ancestor I'm sure Thomas Allenson and Naomi Golling were my great great grandparents and I was born in Ulceby nr Alford in Lincolnshire not too far from Thomas's birthplace in Wrangle.

Your name rang a few bells, 27 years ago someone in the Allenson clan received a letter from Michael Cordwell along with an outline family tree and a copy was eventually passed to me. See attached. Also I guess maybe the second part of your surname comes from Adeline May James who married Evelyn Arthur Wood.

Now that the internet has made it all much easier to research this kind of thing I have been filling some of the detail along our branch of the tree and I would be very happy to share this with you.

Suggest you reply direct to mike.linuxforum at gmail.com (remove at insert @)

best regards

Mike Allenson

Hello there!
I have just come across your ancient post in a google search! Is it possible we are interested in the same Allensons? I am descended from a Thomas Allenson who was schoolmaster (from 1764) and later also a parish clerk (from 1796) in East Kirkby, Lincolnshire. He died in 1823. He was married to Naomi Golling and I have a note somewhere to the effect that he was born in Skipton, Yorkshire.
It would be good to make some connection with you and compare notes, maybe?
Best wishes for 2013!
Yours
Michael Cordwell James
