My grandmother was Ruby Allen, daughter of James Allen who was a judge in Clinton Co. Illinois. Her grandfather was Lewis Allen, married to Nancy Burnside. There are lots of other Allens in Clinton and Bond Co. Illinois, but I'm having trouble piecing them together.

One was Benjamin Allen, married to Jane Burnside in 1822. Don't know if Benjamin is related to Lewis. It seems likely, but I can't be sure.
