Hi Deanna, I think you are right, in those days a lot of times they did not baptise an infant untill they could get to church as sometimes it was far away. I am sorry, I started this search 25 or more years ago and have just come back to it..I made the mistake of not noting where I got my information. I do have Gads birth certificate so I can say it is certain that he was born June 9 1750. His dad was Moses allen and his mom was Hannah Miller. They lived in Suffield. Also that they did not own property untill 1800. Other information I have picked up as I go either in Librarys( I have been to Suffield, Westfield, Hartford, and Simsbury, plus my home in Arlington Ma.) I am also a member of the New England Historical Sociaty and have been there a number of times. So to get back to you I am sorry that I can not give you a answer on your David. The records could be either. I guess a search of Suffields Church records might give us an answer...perhaps. I would love for you to tell me more about David as all that I have is thaT he was a baby and the date 29 June 1777 Southwick ma..so if you could give me his wife and children that would be great.
