We are an Italian speaking, English family who have recently moved to live in Itri, which is near to Minturno.

We fell in love with the area when on holiday a few years ago, and have a passion for all (nearly all !!!) things Italian.

We too are researching family links particularly in the Atina, Frosinone area.

my father is anthony alicandro.
my grandfather was francisco d'alicandro from alvito and came to england in 1930s.
I have a son dominic alicandro born 1994.

Hi Katie - My grandfather Bernadino Alicandro came to the US in 1918 and settled in Worcester. I think her had a brother Angelo, but I've never heard of Fred or Martino. I do believe he was from Minturno though.

Hi - my Grandfather was Bernadino Alicandro, but he married Marianna Stellato. Unless he was married before that? He came to the US in 1918.

Hi Luis, my last name is Alicandu, too. I don´t know were it comes from. I'm from Venezuela too. I live in Valencia, Vzla. But i don't know you....

Father - Amrogio Alicandro, born Alvito,1902,came to America,1921 (Dec'd)
Mother - Maria Mequio, born Rome 1902, passed away 2002
Mother's father Camillo Mequio was an Alvitan.
Ambrogio's Mother, Assunta Alicandro, maiden name Brusca.
Macioce's are related also.

My mother is an Alicandro. Her father, Martino, came from Minturno February 13, 1913, at age18 . He had a brother Angelo and Fred and lived in Massachusetts, with relatives who settled in Worcester, MA. Ship he was on was San Giorgio out of Naples. Anyone familar with this family?

I believe we are somehow related as my grandfather came from Alvito to America in 1906. He was twenty-three. The name was changed to Dalicandro between 1910 and 1920. His wife was Maria Stella Maggio from Alvito. I live in Phoenix.. we must talk..

I think she is related. my great-grandfather was Francesco
Alicandro, he left his family in Alvito Italy to look for work and never returned. His wifes name was Vittoria Ferazzolli. she was born in 1876. they had two children that we no of, we thought Loreta and Cesidio. If there were more children we are not aware of it. Vittoria had a sister, our "Zia Lucia" ( Aunt Lucy) I have a phot of her and great-grandmother Vittoria. Vittoria lived with the Pelligrino(i) family. The boys came here to America in 1912. I am so excited to have found you and Angela!!!!! I have goosebumps!!!!!!!!

I have been working on the family geneology for about three years now. We were fortunate enough a few weeks ago to locate passports of my grandfather and his mother.
to make it short My maternal grandfather was Cesidio D'alicandro, the original passport name was Alicandro. When he came to America as a boy at the age of 12, his name was changed to Dalicandro, the signature is Cesidio D'alicandro. We know that his father was Francesco and that he left the family in Alvito Italy when grandpa was a baby. Grandpa had a sister, we thought, Loreta!!!!!! ( My mother is Loretta) This is tooo exciting!!! I have goosebumps thinking about this. The story was that Francesco went to England to find work and he never returned. We have a picture of a woman, dated 1952, her name was Pasqualina, she is beautiful!!! This picture was sent to grandpa by his cousin Cesidia. On the back of the picture it says in Italian, "Your niece, Pasqualina".
I hope that this information is as exciting to you as it is to me.

I live in the US. My greatgrandfather was born in Alvito Italy. His name was Loreto. I have found out that originally the name was Alicandro but became Dalicandro in the US. He came here in apx. 1912. I know that he has two visits in 1903 and 1911. I found a lot of info on the Elis Island site. Let me know if you find out anything. Thank you Jennifer Dalicandro

Hi Marion,

I just got back from Florida with my mother and visited Bob and Carol Parkman. It was the first time I met them. We had a nice visit except for the fact that my mother got sick and by the time we got back to north carolina she was very ill. The next day (yesterday) she was sent to the hospital with congestive heart failure. She is on oxygen and other meds and they expect she will be home soon. We are attempting to get her to move either to NY near Tina and myself or Pennsylvania near Peter and his wife. She is very stubborn and doesn't want to move out of the south so she is dragging her feet. But we will win I'm sure.

Uncle Louie moved to Florida a long time ago. My father told me years ago, but I don't know where. I found a website for Minturno, where they were born but you have to write to them in Italian for them to respond to you. I've located another Tega family in Illinois and I am pretty sure that Nello Tega was a cousin to Pop Tega. Did you know Pop had three daughters before he had is family with Grandma? Uncle Ronny told my father that quite a few years ago. Tina and I are planning a trip to Italy but it won't be for a few more years yet. My email is soper@superior.net

My great-grandmother was Victoria Alicandro, her daughter was Marianne Alicandro Tega, her son was Peter V. Tega, his daughter, Donna Victoria Tega Soper. I am looking for relatives. Marianne had a brother named Louis Alicandro who lived in Florida. He had only one child, Victoria Alicandro. If anyone has any information, please let me know.
