Dear Ray
I tried emailing you a couple of times but I seem to frequently experience great difficulty sending and receiving emails from Australia! Do have any similar difficulties with emails to/from England?
I tried to send you a photo in the first email, but at the moment it seems we might not be able to email each other directly. If you have problems with England but not USA then perhaps I could ask some USA friends to forward my email messages to you.
Here is what I tried to send you...

Thank you very much for your enquiry. I have spent a lot of time a year ago researching the Roney family and all that I could find at that time, on some of where your lot ended up was from the IGI... I’ll put my notes on William Roney below;
With parents in 1841 and 1851. Not found in subsequent censuses.
IGI; A William Roney Marriage to Phillis Johnson 02 JAN 1860 at Saint Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England - no source information.
IGI; and there was a baptism to a William Roney in Brighton (02 JAN 1864 Brighton) with parents William Roney and PHylis Fuller.

Re their children.
Existence of their children discovered through an IGI Individual family record with no source, however the mother of William is noted as Phyllis Fuller. I suspect the person who submitted the information had made a mistake about the mothers name as William and Phyllis were living with her parents named Johnson at one point. There were no registered marriages of any Phyllis Fuller on the IGI or England and Wales index to a Roney.
Children were listed as;
1. James William Roney
Birth: 04 OCT 1862 Brighton, Sussex, England, Death: 14 APR 1941
2. William Roney
Birth: 02 JAN 1864 Brighton, Sussex, England, Death: 21 MAY 1955
3. Albert Roney
Birth: 18 MAR 1865 Brighton, Sussex, England, Death: 20 DEC 1957 Of, , South Australia, Australia
4. Charles Roney
Birth: 14 OCT 1870 , South Australia, Australia, Death: 15 DEC 1953 Collie, Western Australia, Australia
Mahala Roney, daughter of James Alderton and Sarah Boxall, would have been my 3rd great grandmother. Mahala was a first cousin once removed of Edith [Alderton] Nesbitt who was also known as E. Nesbit / E. Nesbitt and Edith Nesbitt / Nesbit – the very famous writer of horror stories and childrens books (I keep forgetting whether there are two t’s in nesbitt or not). Edith’s lifestyle at the time was certainly very avant-guarde as she lived in an open-marriage with one Hubert Bland.
I have a lot more information I can share with you about E Nesbitt and the other branches of the Roneys but I really look forward to hearing back from you with any more details of your branch of the Roneys.
Excitedly,
Regards
Penny
