William Mullins is not descended from any Molyneaux family,
nor does he have any proven royal ancestry. There is no
evidence that his wife Alice was named Alice Atwood or Alice
Poretiers. This is a common error which has been perpetuated
by many genealogists. Please see the article by Alicia Crane

Vol. 44, pp. 38-44. This information also appears in the
silver book, Mayflower Families Through Five Generations: John
Alden, Vol. 16, part 1, published in 1999. This is the
definitive work on the Alden family as part of the General
Society of Mayflower Descendants series of books on the
Mayflower passengers. Also, John Alden parents are unknown.
