Henry Albrecht was born May 31, 1872 in Zurich, Ontario. When he was 16, he caught the spirit of the pioneers moving westward and came to Canalier County, ND.
For a number of years he was employed by Peter Wild, a prominent farmer in the Milton vicinity. He later homesteaded south of Langdon. He acquired more farm property which he operated until shortly before the turn of the century when he accepted a position as a grain buyer at Glasston, ND. He was there for a time and then returned to Langdn to manage the National Elevator until his retirement in 1938. He died Dec 7, 1944.
Lilah Drummond was born May 10, 1881 in Darlingford, Manitoba. She later moved with her parents, who were farmers, to the Elkwood vicinity where she attended country school.
As a young woman she worked in Langdon until her marriage to Henry Albrecht Oct 18, 1911. She died Sept 20, 1966.
The Albrecht's had four children: Harold Albrecht, June Albrecht, Ruth Albrecht and Barbara Albrecht Nell. June married Howard Kelland. The others died in early childhood. --recorded 3/85.
