My 5th-great-grandfather is Jacob Akard (1740-1826) who died in Sullivan County, Tennessee... I am trying to finalize a manuscript on his lines that I have been working on for several years, and hope to publish this Fall/Winter. Would like to hear from anyone connected to Jacob and/or his descendants. I am particularly looking for copies of Bible records as well as any old photographs. Thanks in advance.

Might have a connection to your line. Am looking for information on Susanah B. Akard, b. abt 1807, married abt 1830 to Joseph McCrary in Sullivan Co. Have some pictures of her daughter-in-law and grandson. Let me know if you find a connection as I have nothing before her in the Akards.

Shelia,

By any chance do you know anything about a Samuel AKARD b.1821 who married Eliza LATTURE in abt. 1847?
They were in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
I don't know if this is correct, but a long time ago I was given Samuel AKARD parents names as Adam AKARD and Elizabeth WASSOM who married in 1815 Sullivan County, Tennessee.
I'm would like to know where Samuel AKARD and Eliza LATTURE are buried at.

Thank You,

Theresa theresagriffiths@iwon.com

Sheila,

My g-g-grandfather was a James Conant who is found in the 1850 census (under the name John) living in Washington County with a household that includes 71 year old woman, probably born in Pa (hard to read) named Catherine Conant. There are several other links. He was born in Dec 1815. In a book that lists "problem" Conants, ones who can't be connected with main Conant lines, there is a reference to a James Conant, son of Jonathan COnant, in Tennessee, with James having a birthdate that is 4 days off of the date I was given for my g-g-grandfather.

I do have a copy of the Akard diary reference to the marriage of jonathan Conant to Catherine Akard, and the bio of Catherine published in the book on Sullivan County Genealogy back about 1990. However, I come up short otherwise in establishing the link.

I do have several pictures of children of James Conant.

Do you want the photos?

Can I get a copy of your book?

Otherwise, is there any other "evience" available to you on the Conant-Akard connections.
