Looking for information on Helen Ajer who was briefly
married to Robert Donald Ajer in the early to mid-1940s.
Lived in Wisconsin. Possibly in the Madison or Milwaukee
area. They had a baby girl who didn't live very long.
They took her to Milwaukee to buried. Apparently they divorced
after this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry for not finding this question until April 2007! My AJER family came from Norway some time in the mid to late 1800s. My great great grandfather was ANDERS BJORGE /AJER/ who married: INGEBORG ANNA /SIVERTSON/. His son is: NORMAN ALFRED /AJER/ (my grandfather) who married: MayBelle HEISIG. They some how ended up in northern Wisconsin, USA.

Any help?

Hi! Was your Mom's name Helen? I have copy of their son's birth/death announcements. He was born on June 15 1944, and died June 16, 1944. Do you know when/where Helen and Robert were married? I couldn't find any record of a marriage or a divorce. Would you feel ok sharing what you know about Helen and Robert? Robert was my dad. He wasn't the greatest dad in the world, but he was very handy w/his hands. He could create beautiful things out of wood. He was a better grandfather than he ever was a dad, unfortunately. Could you tell me where Robert, Jr. is buried? What your Mom's maiden name was, etc.? This is the first chance I've had to find anyone who knew he was even married. He always kept it a secret....my mother Mary Dillon Ajer is the one that told me he'd been married before and had a son that died. She didn't tell me this until he died which was Jul 19, 1991 in Madison, WI Robert has a sister Johanna, who was a teenager when the baby was born. She says she remembers Robert and Helen, MaeBelle Ajer (Robert's mother) and Johanna taking the casket of the baby in the trunk of my dad's car and taking it to Milwaukee for burial. That's all she could remember. Does that sound about right? Thanks for contacting me!! You might be able to put a mystery to bed. I really appreciate your contacting me. My email s smileytoo22003@yahoo.com. My name is Lin (Ajer) Hochstetter and I live north of Madison. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Lin
