From your message written in 1999: "Virgilio Aiazzi's father Angelino Aiazzi, mother Armania Spampini in Pistoia, Italy.Virgilio born in Pistoia and died 3/23/57 in Reno,NV. Wife Anunziata Petrini dob 3/25/1886 in Lucca, Italy, dod 10/19/56 in Reno,Nv.Any info on Angelino and Armania."

From a trip that I did to Italy, in 1998 this is what I can tell you. Virgilio AIAZZI was the son of Michael Angiolo Aiazzi b. abt 1828 in Agliana, Pistoia, Tuscana, Italy and m. abt 1862 Erminia Spampani b. abt 1838. In 1995, I interviewed your mother and she told me that Angelo (i.e. Michael Angiolo) d. at 96 years of age which would be at 1924. He was the son of Giovanni and Rosa (Innocenti) Aiazzi. Erminia was the daughter of Felice and Allessandra (Barontini) Spampani.

Your mother told me that Erminia had come from a wealthy family while Angiolo was a gardner. I was not able to verify this but I can tell you that the village of Agliana is an area of much agricultural, especially sculptured plants. Your father can probably tell you more about this as it is my understanding that was his trade.

Coralee,
I was very excited to see the information you had submitted to Family Search.org. I am researching my brother-in-law's line , who is the grandson of Emilio and Vanelli Quilici Aiazzi. I have a copy of the ship manifest of the emigration of Emilio Aiazzi. He traveled with Emma Lammori Aiazzi (Pietro's wife) and was listed under her name, so it was a little hard to find. You probably already have this information. I was going to write to you when I saw your submitter address on Family Search. How are you related to the Aiazzi's? When you were in Italy, were you able to get any copies of Christening records? i know my brother-in law would really love to have copies of that kind of information. I know it's been a while since you've posted, so If I don't hear from you, I'll try to contact you on snail mail!
Thanks!

Oh, I got copies of whatever I could get my hands on, because I never knew if I would get another chance. I was actually quite lucky in that we connected with a relative there who had the line quite far back. It has been awhile since I worked this line, so I don't remember everything I have and will have to refresh myself on the specfics, but I am always happy to correspond with a relative. I shall provide my e-mail to you directly.
