Surnames: Agar
Alan - I'm descended from the Agar family from around Tyneside, Durham City and Washington from c. 1760s I've traced back to William Agar who was christened in St Nicholas' Church in Durham City in 1768. My great grandmother was Hannah Agar b. 1867 and one of her sisters emigrated to Utah, USA in the late 1800s. Have you any more info on this side of the family, possibly stretching back beyond 1760s?
Regards

Hi Yvonne
I don't know if this is relevant to you but I have a typed book with the name William Agar wrote on the inside, and the book is about plants called 'Family Herbal'. The book has a hand made cover and part of the cover was made from a Methodist leaflet of some kind.
The inside is really interesting as it describes plants and there uses in medicine.
I know there is nothing about your family history but I just though you may have found this interesting
