Victor:

Unfortunately, I know little or nothing of the Agar line going back. What I do know has been gleaned from Mark and snippets of a tree that someone posted on My Family.com; inforamtion that you already have. Likewise, I don't know much about the Jane Agar or Maurice Agar lines coming forward. Of course, I can give you a good portion of Grandpa Sam's line coming forward, minus dates. If that would be of interest to you, and is what you meant in part by the "Agar family tree", please let me know.

Please feel free to contact me at Lowell.Berg@att.net

Warmest regards,

Lowell

My name is Jane Agar. My father's name was Earl. His parents, Morris and Emily Agar relocated to ny from Sheffield in (as best as i can figure) in the early 1900's. I believe Morris had several brothers. When they came to the U.S. some settled in nyc, and at least one in california.

Someone alerted me to this discussion, so i thought i chime in…if anyone is still pursing this.

(Lowell Agar Berg - funny thing, my mothers maiden name was Berg, and when she married she was Marion Berg Agar) :)

If you would like to contact me i'm at jla10952dog@gmail.com. I'm not a member of Ancestry, and won't be checking here.

This is Jane Agar. I posted comment re my father Earl Agar, and said his parents were Morris and Emily.

Let me correct what i said and add the little that i know.

Morris Agar and Emily (nee Broady) moved from Sheffied England in early 1900's. I have a picture of Emily. Big woman.

They had a number of children…my grandfather Hyman, David, i think there was a Samuel, and maybe a Nate - there was a Dollie in the family - maybe a sister…? One of the brothers relocated to California.

Hy and David had a real estate company in Brooklyn. I have a marketing thing…like a postcard, from H & D Agar.

Hy married my grandmother Mollie, and had 2 children, my father Earl and his brother Howard. I think David married a woman named Millie. I remember holiday dinners at my grandparents in the late mid – late 50’s. There was a Millie and a Dolly…don’t recall who was who, but will ask my brother. I was 5 - 6, have a hazy memory, he was 12/13 - remembers…everything.

Earl Agar married my mother Marion Berg. They had 2 children - me and my brother John.

Regards,
Jane
