I decend from Joseph J. AFFANTRANGER, b. in Luzern, Switzerland. He and his wife Josephine Maria Earnest, came to America in 1816. While traveling on the ship, Josephine gave birth to my gr gr gr grandmother, Josephine Anthriantrite, their second of nine children.
Looking for any AFFANTRANGER descendants to share information with, either in Switzerland or America. This family settled in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

I understand that in Switzerland, the name is spelled AFFENTRANGER.

Hi my name is Tama Beatty. My maiden name is Affeltranger. I don't know if you are related to me or not. I know our family came from Switzerland. My grandfathers name is Emil August Affeltranger and his father was Emil August Affeltranger Sr. - wife was Maria Anna Oberholzer. I can give you the names of the children Hilda, William, Anna, John Henry Affeltranger. If you are related possibly, please write me back. I know we have ancestors in Bavaria and Northern Switzerland. I think there is a town named Affeltrangen. Thanks
Tama Beatty

Hi. My surname is Affeltranger. I'm a little confused. I thought that your grandfather, Emil August, was just that. Not junior. His father's name was just plain Emil, so your grandfather, Emil AUGUST, is a first.

Hello, I've been looking at the resources available at the above listed library -- BYU Utah Valley Regional History Center -- and I noticed your reply. Emil Affeltranger is my great-great grandfather, John Henry is my great grandfather... My dad has actually been to Switzerland and visited the town of Affeltrangen. How do you fit into the Affeltranger line?

Thanks, Jonathan Affeltranger
