I'm looking for information on Mary Adkins and her common-law husband, and father of her children, Jacob Harley, Earl of Oxford. This is the so-called Royal Line of Adkins. Does anyone have any information on him or on them other than the names of their children? They lived in the 1700s in VA. Her father was William V. Adkins. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have anything this far back on my family but I am interested because the names are familiar ones in my family. They used them over and over. My Ggrandfather was John Adkins who married Susan Bates, They had sons Henry, Peter, Edward and a daughter named Bonnie. There may have been more. Henry b.1859 was my grandfather. Not unless William was married to Elizabeth Parker, that is the line I am tracing.

William Adkins is married to Elizabeth Parker, they were married Jan 17, 1716 in Richland, Henrico Co. VA.
