I have finally found the passenger manifest listing my great grandfather's family. They lived in Houghton-le-Spring, Durham, England, but left from Liverpool and arrived in Philadelphia January 5, 1831 on the ship-Alexander. The name was listed as Eddy, but should have been Adey. Listed are Esther and her children John, Christian, Philip, Rachel and William. Now I need to find if her husband died in England or if he arrived on an earlier ship.
