John ADAM was the brother of my G-Great Grandfather Alexander.

In the spring of 1869, John with his sister Jessie and her family (husband John REID and their children) sailed for America onboard the Ship Britannia. They landed at the port of New York on Mar 16, 1869.

In the 1870 US CENSUS PONTIAC, Livingston, ILLINOIS I see
John along with Jessie and her family but loose him after that.

Did John stay in the US and move elsewhere or return to Scotland?? Jessie and her family eventually moved to Indiana and then senttled in Seattle, but nothing on John after 1870.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
