My great-grandfather was James Varnum Abbott, b. about 1818 in Andover, ME. His parents were Holton Hamilton Abbott (son of Philip Abbott) and Mary "Polly" Farrington. He left for the Oregon Territory during his younger years so may have lost contact with family back in Maine.
