Abalos Ancestors

Roger Abalos, Sr. (View posts)

Hello,

My name is Roger Abalos, Sr. I am 35 years old and I am the son of Paul Covarrubio Abalos, who is the son of Lasarito Abalos, whose family is from Durango, Mexico. I do not know the particular's of how or why they fled Mexico. Maybe with more correspondence, we may find out. I am not sure if I am related to you or not, but, the spelling of the last name ABALOS, with a B rather than a V kind of narrows down the list. The Abalos family that I came from lives in Texas, the patriarch being Lasarito Abalos. He is in bad health, and is now 83 years old. He currently resides in Odessa, Texas.

I am in Corpus Christi, Texas. 10810 Eastwood Dr. Zip 78410 You may call me also, if you so desire. 361-241-7895. I may be able to hook you up with someone who may know more. Ciao!

Roger Abalos, Sr.

You know me!

I am Your tia Juanita's great grandson. I am
a grandson of Andres Abalos. We are the same family.
I haven't been to Rankin in some time. I've met
you before but I don't know if you remember. Richard
knows me pretty well. I can tell you that Mama Lita's
parent's names were Policarpio Lopez and Dolores Marta. However
I am having such a hard time with finding anything about Andres
Abalos (primero). I have looked in many church records, marriage, baptizmal
indexes and I can't find a thing. What we really need to know in order to go further
is more about exactly where in Durango they came from, the name of a town or village or
even a church. Also, if you can find out from Tio Lazarito where Mama Lita brought them through
across the border, that would be valuable as well. Try to get as much information about any of the names
of his aunts and uncles on both sides. I may be travelling to Mexico in the near future and this information
would make much easier to trace the Abalos family origin.
It's good to hear from you Roger.

Maybe we will see eachother in Rankin Soon. I'm living in Midland right now
and I'm sure that a family reunion will be soon.

Say high to everyone for me!

If you have any new info about the Abalos just email me or
call anytime at (915) 522-1437.

Hey Rico,

I can't say for certain that I remember you. The family is so big!!! I used to live with Richard and Delma as a kid.

Anyway, I will be going to visit my father very soon. I will ask him what he know's. Also, since Social Security applications are public record, I think I will submit for a copy of Lasarito Abalos' original Social Security application. They will have the names of both of his parents, and their last address on it. Will let you know something soon. Take care, and I hope to talk to you soon!!!

Hello, I received your email on Dec. 5th. I am not sure if we are related. Most of our relatives are from West Texas (Odessa, Rankin, Sweetwater, Big Lake) to name a few. I will ask my father, when I speak to him again, if we have or had relatives in the Denver area. I hope to hear from you again. Most Sincerely,
Roger Abalos, Sr.

Ps. Yes, it is a small world!! I have found 2 cousin's on the internet!!!!

Hello,
Well, I am sure I met you at some point somewhere. I am the son of Paul Abalos, and Pilar. Willies Sr. is my father's uncle. Lasarito Abalos is my grandfather, he is from Rankin.

I know a couple of your uncles, Willie Jr., and Ernesto. I used to live in Odessa, but I moved to Corpus Christi last year. I am a social worker, and counsel "at risk" youth. I hope we can keep in touch. Small world, isn't it? LOL

Take care,
Your Cousin, Roger Abalos, Sr.

My Grandfather is Andres Abalos. My mother is Betty Abalos. Did you know Felicita's parent's names? They are Policarpio Lopez and Dolores Marta. If you have found anything concrete, like marriage dates places of where Andres and Felicita may have lived I would appreciate it. I go to Mexico, Durango sometimes and it is hard to find: like looking for needles in a haystack. I've been able to get allot from my great grandmother Juanita and Tio Lazaro While still alive. Any info would be valuable. When is the last time you've been to Rankin. My brother Tony was living in Austin for a while. Well it's good to know another prima.

Rico
