Hello,

I think we are talking about the same Jules Abadie. As far as I know he was married to Frances/Francine Maumus, possibly in France where they were both born. He had a son, Charles, and a daughter, Marie. There may also have been a son named Henri who died as a child.

Charles Abadie married Esther Gerard. I think they moved to the Baton Rouge area but I could me mistaken. I have Esther's obituary if you wouldl like the info included.

JULES ABADIE WAS MY GREAT GRANDFATHER. HE WAS A BUTCHER IN NEW ORLEANS. HE WORKED AT THE MAGAZINE MARKET WITH HIS BROTHER IN LAW, HENRI MAUMUS... JULES ABADIE AND FRANCINE MAUMUS ABADIE'S SON, HENRY ABADIE, WORKED WITH THEM AND LEARNED THE TRADE AT AN EARLY AGE. HENRY ABADIE HAD FOUR CHILDREN ARTHUR, FRANCIS, CLAYTON, AND MARCEL... I HAVE ATTACHED TWO PHOTOS, BOTH TAKEN IN THE MAGAZINE MARKET. ONE OF WHICH IS HENRI MAUMUS AND YOUNG HENRY ABADIE.THE OTHER PHOTO IS JULES ABADIE AND HIS BROTHER IN LAW HENRI MAUMUS. I AM MARCEL ABADIE'S SON, CHARLES ABADIE

Henri Maumus was my great-great-grandfather. I have a photo of him in the butcher shop with other unknown men. I know this is an old thread, just wondering if it is still active.

I believe that there were at least two men named Jules Abadie in the New Orleans area who were somewhat close in age. There was a butcher shop in the early 1900's run by Henry Abadie and his brother who were related to a Jules Abadie. Henry Abadie had a daughter named Frances, and sons Clayton, Arthur, and Marcel. I am not sure how Henry was related to Jules but I remember my father, Marcel Abadie, mentioning he had a relative named Jules.
