El noble linaje de los Abad procede del senorio de Viacaya, segun lo manifiestan los tratadistas Alberto y Arturo Garcia Carraftta, y agregan que la casa troncal radico en el Valle de Gordejuela. My ABAD grandfather came from Mieres, Espana.
I have meet many persons of many nationalists with the name ABAD worldwide. I have traced it to the eleventh century. and it came from Vizcaya, Euskadi (Vasco Northern Spain) The name can be found en el Registro General Militar de Segovia. The Motto on the Coat of Arms reads: Castro-Abad

I have a similar situation. My grandmother was born in Lebanon and had the surname Abad. I, too, have pretty much encountered people of Phillipine decent when searching. I wonder if you've learned anything new about the topic since your posting.
