I have my grandfather's accordian made by your grandfather. My family would like to have it displayed in a museum in California--close by so family-members can view it. Do you have any suggestions? My personal mail is davicf@comcast.net

http://jbecheverri.blogspot.com

An ancestor, MICHAEL FRANCIS SULLIVAN (born Grattan Michigan 1865), studied at the NAC in the late 1880s earning his degree in theology. He had earlier studied at the Grand Seminary in Montreal. I would like to research more of his time in Rome. Any suggestions? Any input appreciated.

My father was his nephew. My father was born in 1910 in Secondigliano, Italy a suburb of Naples at the time. Son of Pietro Maglione (Cardinal's brother) and Ermelinda Canetti or Canneti. My father often talked about his uncle and as a proud catholic used to brag about having family in high places. My father immigrated to Venezuela with his two brothers Guido and Armando and his sisters Yolanda and Eleonora. I am the youngest of 4 and I immigrated to the US (Florida) 33 years ago, have 4 kids and 2 grandkids. I am thrilled to see so many Maglione's in the US. We were the only ones in Venezuela. My father told me that many of his relatives left for the US in the 1920-30's.

He was born to Giovanni Valentino and Maddelena Taverone (or her proper name was Madeline Ivarone, conflict of records from family history and the Immigration Records at Ellis Island, New York What I have learned about his career was through 2 books; Twentieth Century Ponitff The Secret History of Pius XII, by Johm Cornwell.
My father is related on the Valentino family from Casoria, Italy.
I do not have anything to add about Maglione;s family
history. But,I need to learn my grandmother's actual name. Can you help me?
I also am interested in a situation that happened in 1929 between the Cardinal of France and the Vatican in which Maglione was assigned the blame for I asked the Vatican Library, many years ago, if they could direct me to a research source. Never heard from Casoria (or was it Naples) on November 16, 2008, to research my grandmother's records of my fathers birth and/or baptism. Nio reply as yet.
Thank you for reading this message. I can be reached at mauricevalentine@att.net. Please use the phrase CARDINAL MAGLIONE on any correspondence, otherwise I do not open any email from those whom I don't recognize.
Maurice Valentine.

Count Enrico Pietro Galeazzi, the architect, designed the seminary building of the North American College on the Janiculum Hill, not far from St. Peter's basilica. As I remember, he built a sepulcher for himself in the crypt a couple of levels below the chapel; however, I do not know for sure whether or not he was actually entombed there. You can check with the North American College website for confirmation.

Hello, Gosia, and welcome to the board. I think I speak for vast majority of us, who used to poste here, that of course we are still his fans. The reason we stopped posting is the fact that during that time we got to know each other better and so we started communicating by e-mails, which allows us to exchange much more information and pictures. I guess many things happened during that year, so ask if you want to know anything specific. Yes, sadly he did suffer a heart attack in March and underwent an angioplasty, but fortunatelly he seems to be doing alright now.

I just finished watching a press conference from the 4 of april when marini with navarro-valls explained the process of the funeral and conclave.I think it is interesting because Piero speaks a lot (this was the first time I heard his voice). It is on the www.vatican.va site(thanks to Tina for telling me about it).
hmmmm....I say we call him(ok,my mom told me to do that and she's smart so....).

Hi, everyone! My name is Tina and I live in Slovenia. I`m a great fan of abp. Piero Marini and his work aswell. He was in my country twice, in 1996 and again in 1999. I found the address of his office on the internet. I regret it`s not an e-mail but better than nothing. Here it is: Office of the liturgical celebrations of the supreme pontiff, Palazzo Apostolico Vaticano, 00120 Citta del Vaticano, with a telephone and fax number: tel: (0-6)69-88-32-53 or (0-6)69-88-52-64, fax: (0-6)69-88-54-12. Hope that helps a bit. Maybe we can send fax or try our luck on the phone, because I think he really should know how we appreciate what he does. Any volunteers :-)
