My husband's great-grandfather was Ernest Tanner. We have very little information about him, except that he was born in Appenzell, Switzerland most likely around 1898. He came to the United States probably around 1920. I think I may have found him as a passenger on the Rotterdam. If it is him, he would have been from St. Gall, St. Gallen, Switzerland. It looks as if he traveled to the US from Switzerland by himself and I'm not sure if he had any family here when he arrived because I am unable to locate him on any censuses. He married a woman named Antoinette from Hungary after arriving in the US. I have no information about her either. They had 3 children that I am aware of: Gladys, Gloria and Ernest (my husband's grandfather). It would be wonderful if anyone has any additional information about him or his family. Thank you!
