Stadlin family

I am trying to further my research of my 3rd Great-grandmother Pauline Maria Von Stadlin, born 2 Aug 1817 in Switzerland. According to family lore, Pauline was disinherited by her family because she had married beneath her social status to a Johann Weber, a printer by trade. Johann and Pauline were married circa 1837 and had the following children: Mary born circa 1838, Josephine born 26 Mar 1841, Pauline born 17 Oct 1843, Alice born Dec 1844, Bertha born 12 Sep 1848 and Edward born 20 Sep 1849. In Mary Weber Mengis’s obituary it lists her place of birth as Munsker Switzerland but I have been unable to find this town, perhaps a misspelling on Münster? The rest of the children have their place of birth listed as Bern or Lucerne Switzerland.

The only place I can find the Stadlin surname mentioned is in connection with Zug Switzerland. Any help or direction will be appreciated.
Dear Paul, Thanks for your reply. Since I posted my first query on this message board, I have met a lot of my Rogenmoser relatives both in the U.S. and in Switzerland. I received a copy of Anita's history from Donald Rogenmoser. I also traveled to Oberageri, Zug, Switzerland and met many other Rogenmoser's this summer. I corresponded with Marjorie Rogenmoser and Debbie Rogenmoser as well as Donald on the internet and I met with MaryAnn Ranger, who is the grand-daughter of Mary Rogenmoser. You might be interested to know that the old Rogenmoser farm house in Clarence, N. Y. is for sale. It looks pretty much the same as it did in Anita's book. If you are interested in corresponding via e-mail with me about this subject, feel free to contact me directly. I'm enjoying meeting my extended family because they are the only relatives I'm aware of on my mothers side of the family. Hope to hear from you. Colleen

Looking for descendants with Schell surname from Zug (city), Switzerland. My great-grandfather, Frederick Schell, born 9 March 1846, in Zug, immigrated to the United States in 1859, according to family tradition. I have not been able to determine his exact immigration date, but do know he was in Cincinnati, Ohio at least by 1873, and died there in 1916. I have some research that provides my Schell ancestry in Zug from 1762, but I do not have the documentation on this. I would be particularly interested in connecting with any Schell descendant in the Zug area that is interested in researching the Schell line or has already done so.

I lived in San Bernardino, California for 20 years prior to moving to Arizona 10 years ago. My e-mail address is fryes@cox.net.....they don't post them automatically on the boards unless you specifically include them in the body of your post. My great, great grandfather, Martin Rogenmoser lived and was buried in Clarence Center, N.Y., a suburb of Buffalo. Can't wait to check out the web sites you mentioned. Thanks again.

Hi Colleen...I just happened to come across this message board for the first time and just had to respond to your post...I am married to a Rogenmoser....we live in California now, but he was born/raised in Oberaegeri....the name Rogenmoser in Oberageri is like "Smith" in the US (i.e. there are lots of them!!) You might want to check out a couple of websites before your trip -- www.rogenmoser.ch and www.aegeri.ch....feel free to email me if you have any specific questions...can't guarantee I can help, but can try. Oberageri is very beautiful - enjoy your trip!
Her father, Martin Rogenmoser was born in Oberaegeri, Zug, Switzerland in 1822. His father was Carl Rogenmoser, who was born in the same place in 1777.
Seek Jacob Bossinger wife Frances, born 1800-1804 in Switzerland

I am seeking links to the family of Jacob (may be middle name) Bossinger and wife Frances, both born around 1800-1804 in Switzerland. These names are assumed to be middle names by German/Swiss naming conventions, because thought that is what is found in family documents, I have been unable to locate them in LDS IGI indexes under those as first names.

Jacob & Frances (maiden name unknown) settled first in Ohio with their Swiss born daughter Ann b. about 1830. There they had sons, Jacob N. b. 1836, Isaac b. 1841 and John J. (my great great grandfather), born about 1844.

They then moved to the Five Points area of Manhattan (think Gangs of NY.) Their son John J. married Alice King there and they had a very large family, losing several children prior to adulthood. It is not known what happened to the other boys or if there were any other children.

Frances appears in the 1850 census in New York with only Jacob & Isaac. Where John was, I don't know, but he did survive and remain in the area until moving to the Greenpoint/Williamsburg section of Brooklyn during the 1900s.
