Hello. I'm trying to trace my ancetry on both my Giannini and Gilardi sides. I have come to a dead end with the belief that both Dominic/Domenico/Dominick Gilardi and his wife Judith/Juditha Giannini came to Drytown Californa from Switzerland. I have no further information and wish to discover their actual origins in Switzerland and back into Italy. Any information on their birth locations, parents, relatives, etc... would be much appreciated. My Great Great Grandparents Domenico Gilardi married Judith Giannini and had several children, one of which was my Great Grandmother named Matilda Gilardi. Rumor says that both my Great Great Grandparents were born in Bern, but there is no documentation on this. I'm searching the Ticino thread since I believe a lot of Italian/Swiss migrated to Amador County/S.F California from the Ticino Region.
