My g-grandfather came from same area in Switzerland in 1846 and settled in New Albany, IN. I did research there a few years ago and saw the Hublard name in cemeterys. If you ever see the name Joseph Ecabert, I would like to hear from you. He was my g-grandfather. Thanks. Mary Lou

The first record of them in the US is in 1860 living in Morrisania, Westchester (now Bronx) County, New York, and they had 7 children.

Next I find him in Uniondale, in 1870, (on Long Island), Queens (now Nassau) County, New York, and now 9 children.

Vitus had a farm in Uniondale and lived there until he died. His wife, Anne Marie nee Fleury, died in Uniondale on 29 August 1895. Both are buried at Greenfield Cemetery.

Their children:
Francisca married, but died after giving birth, as well as the child
Justina married and had 11 children
Joseph married and had 6 children
Josephine married and had 8 children
*Henry married and had 11 children
Peter married (twice) and had 3 children
John married and had 9 children
Elizabeth married and had 5 children
Marie did not marry

*my gr-grandfather

All stayed on Long Island except Joseph who moved to Connecticut.

Crevoiserat Fleury Anne Marie
Crevoiserat Françoise Léontine daughter of Vital Anne Marie Fleury born 06/07/1844
Crevoiserat Justine Victorine daughter of Vital Anne Marie Fleury born 21/10/1845

Left Pleigne between August and December 1852. Travel and some clothes paid by the village council of Pleigne.

Please, could you give me information of what they became in the States ?

I wonder if you can help me regarding emigration records.

My ancestors, surname Crevoiserat, are citizens of Pleigne.

My gr-gr-gr-grandfather, Jean-Baptiste, married Anne Marie Kauffman of Sondersdorf, France. This is where my gr-gr-grandfather, Vitus (Videl/Vital/Fidel) was born.

Vitus married Anne Marie Fleury of Mervelier, in Mervelier. Their first two children were born in Mervelier, 1844 and 1845. The third and fourth children were born in Sondersdorf, 1849 and 1851. The fifth child was born in New York in 1853.

Sometime between March 1851 and November 1853 the family emigrated. Do you have any suggestions where I may find records?

Appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

fritz jampen,,fritz jampen jr., fritz had four sons, 1.fritz, 2.henri, 3.louis,4. phillipe .( fritz and his sons arrived in couvet 1850.)

(Bure is in the District of Porrentruy, Canton Jura, Switzerland less than 10 miles from Seloncourt in the Canton Hérimoncourt, Department of Doubs, Region of Franche-Comté, France.)

Seloncourt: Civil Records 1791-1883; Church Records 1694-1817 & 1742-1790

The surname Fivaz, sometimes written Fiwaz or F-i-v-v-a-z, is found at Payerne, in the canton of Vaud, toward the beginning of the 16th Century. A letter granting nobility to the brothers Michel, Jean, and Claude, all sons of Claude Fivaz son of Pierre, still survives, and on the basis of this you will sometimes find the name listed as "de Fivaz". One branch, that of the younger Claude, remained Catholic and settled in Fribourg. The other branch, evidently from Michel, became Protestant and remained in Payerne (a later branch took citizenship at Corcelles-près-Payerne when Corcelles was split off from Payerne). But, other apparently unrelated Fivaz families are found in the same vicinity, for example at Sassel.

Because there were multiple families with the same surname, it may be difficult to establish which one you descend from, and it is not necessarily true that Fivaz or similar names are always from Switzerland!

I had to have that paragraph from the book translated to english. I have had some french but it's rusty!
