The first record of them in the US is in 1860 living in Morrisania, Westchester (now Bronx) County, New York, and they had 7 children.
Next I find him in Uniondale, in 1870, (on Long Island), Queens (now Nassau) County, New York, and now 9 children.
Vitus had a farm in Uniondale and lived there until he died. His wife, Anne Marie nee Fleury, died in Uniondale on 29 August 1895. Both are buried at Greenfield Cemetery.
Their children:
Francisca married, but died after giving birth, as well as the child
Justina married and had 11 children
Joseph married and had 6 children
Josephine married and had 8 children
*Henry married and had 11 children
Peter married (twice) and had 3 children
John married and had 9 children
Elizabeth married and had 5 children
Marie did not marry

All stayed on Long Island except Joseph who moved to Connecticut.
