I have a Roth family that is stated as being born and living in Bern. However, it is from a census record and could be inaccurate. The family I am trying to find information on is:

John (could be Johann, Johannes, or Gottfried) Roth, born between 1804 and 1807 in Switzerland.

His wife, Elizabeth, unknown maiden name, born between 1807 and 1810 in Switzerland.

DESPERATELY seeking information on John and Elizabeth--do not know their marriage date, where they were married, or maiden name, or exact years of birth. No paperwork in US to support any leads.

The children that were born in Switzerland, as it has been stated, were:

John born in June of 1831
Nicholas born in 1839
Mary born in April 1843
Jacob born in 1846

It is believed that the family immigrated in 1847 and are found in OH. In OH they had two more sons.

Does anyone have any knowledge of where to find records of a family from this era? I would love to hear from anyone who can help, thank you in advance, Renee.
