If I´m not wrong your are talking about my grandfather´s brother, my grandfather was Manuel last October 6 he should have turned 100 he passed away in 1992 in Venezuela Isidora it’s the only one left and she lives in California, my father is Manuel junior and his siblings are Maruja, Teresa and José Luis. Manuel junior now 73 has my brother Manuel (in NJ), me Pedro (in Valencia Spain) and Carlos (in SC). My uncle José Luis and his family children and grandchildren currently live in Atlanta all the family has left Venezuela in the last 8 years (kind of like a second Cuba), if you want you can reach me through facebook

My greatgrandfather was named felipe garcia, and I believe he has also from canarias. He lived in Matanzas,Cuba. My grandfather, Manuel Garcia Herrera, was his son. I'm trying to get dates from my mom but she doesn't really remember excact dates.

My cousin, Enrique Martin, has Sofia Dalmau as an ancestor. He would like to know more about Sofia's ancestors. I only found that her father was Joaquin Dalmau. It would be very interesting if you knew Joaquín's birthplace. If he was born somewher in Catalonia I might help you all.

He has a photo taken in New Orleans. On the back one in the photo is identified as cousin to his great grandfather

I am also a descendent of the exact lineage. My great-great grandmother was Dona Selena Curbelo, but the spelling of the last name changed many times.
Curbelo, Courville, Corbello and so on. Eugene was her father, but the Umpienes or some other weird spelling was his given name. I have a lot of genealogy on the family and still researching from time to time.

First, I must say that during the month of August the Diocesan Archives will be closed for vacation until September 7.

Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, are islands that belong to another province, so the Archive Tenerife does not save information on these islands, so I can not help. In contrast, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Tenerife yes you can.

Thanks for the info. I have traced the Granado family. Your Juan Rodriguez Granado and my Juan Pedro Cabrera both died in Vera Cruz,Mx. trying to get to Texas. I believe that Ana Padron married to Juan Francisco Granado is related to Steve Gibson as his ancestor is a Padron. Josefa Granado, b.1729 married Patricio Rodriguez son of Salvador Rodriguez and Maria Cabrera. I suspect Juan Cabrera was related to Maria, possibly her brother, but cannot connect it. Juan's son, Marcos Cabrera was killed by the Apaches as was Patricio. Another connection was the wife of Antonio de los Santos, Isabel. She was sister to Maria Rodriguez DeBega Cabrera, wife of Juan Pedro Cabrera. The families were all related in so many ways, it is exciting to find answers and hopefully us descendants can help each other make those connections.

Being this response was to yours made in 2001, I am hoping you are still researching. I would like to know the parents of my Juan Pedro Cabrera who was part of the 16 families sent by King Phillip V. to establish the 1st Civil Govt. for Spain. I know you were in San Antonio and are award of us Canary Islands Descendants. I did go to Lanzarote and met so many Cabreras; but have not found a positive connectiion yet. Thank you so much for letting me know of your predicament. Most of the relatives I'm looking for are from Lanzarote, so I regret that you cannot help.

Do you know of anyone in Lanzarote than can help me? Of course, Spanish is my problem and I'd need someone who can write in English.

I visited Lanzarote 5 years ago and regret that at that time I had not even dreamt of looking up my ancestry. As I mentioned I'm a descendant of Juan Rodriguez Granado and Maria Robaina Bethencourt.

Pablo Guillen del Castillo (Captian y Escribano Publico)- son of Francisco Guillen (Licenciado de Real Audincia)and Maria del Castillo - Pablo married Maria Alcubillo daughter of Licenciado Cristobal Rodriguez, Escribano Publico and Teresa de Alcubillo.
Captain Lucas Guillen del Castillo, born in San Cristobal de Laguna, married Maria Mena in San Cristobal del Laguna.
Salvador Guillen del Castillo y Mena, born in San Cristobal, married Maria de Moya y de la Torre. Maria's parents were Juan Lorenzo e Morya y Velazquez and Maria de la Torre y Calona.
Antonio Guillen del Castillo y Moya moved to PP Cuba around 1690's and married Juana Batista y Napoles daughter of Melchol Batista y Suero both from Tenerife, Garachico.

My family immigrated to Cuba in the 1600's from La Palma and Garachico, Tenerife. I have limited information on them, but do have names and approximate years of birth with parents names. Can you tell me what you charge to conduct a genealogy search? I would need copies of birth documents, marriage and death certificates. Also, please give me a little background about yourself and your research ability.
Out of curiosity, do you also have access to Inquisition Records from Las Palmas from the 1500's? I am looking for information on a relative who gave a Relation to the Santos Oficio in 1525. I have already checked Butts records of the conversos and did not find the name I am searching for.

Bethencourt is an important name in the Canaries, Cuba and I suspect Mexico. My own family married into the Bethencourts of Camaguey, Cuba. I've run across several web site with Bethencourt genealogy, however, I do not know their accuracy. Good luck to you and your research. If you don't mind, would you send me the Spanish sites you spoke of for Canaries? Perhaps I can make headway and in turn help you.
