I am looking for information on my ancestors. My grandparents, Pedro Vergara and Eugenia Triana emigrated to Cuba with their parents around 1910 from Mazo, Gran Canaria.

Eugenia Triana was born in Mazo around 1895. Her parents, Francisco Triana Gomez and Maria "Marquita" Perez Triana, were also from Mazo. My grandfather was also born in Mazo, Gran Canaria around 1890. His parents were Jacinto Vergara Gonzalez and Petra Diaz Perez. They settled first in Camajuany, Cuba and eventually outside Cabaiguan, Cuba.

I would sincerely appreciate any information on these ancestors.

I´m only writing you on behalf the town of Mazo. It´s not situated in the island of Gran Canaria. Mazo is a tiny, pretty village in La Palma, about 10 kms. to the south of its capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma.
I think this could be of little importance to you, if you want to make a precise inquiry into your ancestors.

I am just now finding this, 10 yrs after your initial post, and I'm hoping we can get in touch, as I think we have some ancestors in common. My great-grandmother's name was Carmen Vergara Triana, who lived in Camajuani, Cuba. This is the information I have about my family: Carmen's father was named Pedro Vergara Cordovés, from Mazo, Canarias, but I'm told his wife's name was Caridad Triana Méndez, from Canarias also, but unsure of the town or date of birth. (Maybe they're offspring or siblings of your ancestors?)There's a possibility the name Eugenia may figure in the family, since my grandfather's name was José Antonio Eugenio Hernández Vergara. Hi, my great grandfather, ARturo Triana, was in Sagua la grande, Las Villas province, Cuba, (I believe not far from Camajuani) where he had his two daughters maybe more with Corina Gil. His daughters' names were Felicidad Triana (Dob 1908) and Caridad Triana, don't know Dob. Felicidad Triana was my grandmother. do you have any Arturo Trianas in your tree? luv2bmami@yahoo.com
