Does anybody know if there are records online of the first wave of immigration from Spain to the Canary Islands (1490-1520) during the rule of Alonso Fernández de Lugo? I’m looking for passenger lists or immigration papers or anything at this point.

Hola! Were you successful in finding archived census information for the Canaries? I found out it exists from 1530 onwards. Please reply

I have contacted several people who say they will help and then nothing! Won't even respond to follow-up emails. Would you please keep my email address and if you are successful, contact me? I'll do the same.
Good luck in your search

We finally traced our family to the first families that came from the Canaries.

Depending on where you live, you can get some great stuff at the Public Library. Also the Mormons have a gigantic data base.

But the best book we found was called With the Makers of San Antonio by Chabot (I hope I have that right...right now I'm traveling and don't have my referece documents.
