I am looking for any information on Juan Ramon Calderon Mujica, my great-great-grandfather. He came from Spain (possibly the Canary Islands, where most Mujicas in PR seem to have come from) to Puerto Rico in the mid 19th century, via Venezuela I think.
He went on to be a co-founder and Mayor of the town of Canovanas, PR. I have also been told he lived in the town of Loiza, PR, and that his parents Jose Calderon and Maria Matias Mujica.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i think we are family.i have many information that are like the one that you give. i live in puerto rico. my greatgrandfather was the first mayor of canovanas. my father(he still alive) was his grandson. we have many photos and document of the family.my grandparents (my fathers parent) were: hermelindo diaz and francisca calderon carrion.
