Surnames: Jimenez Garcia, Canadas Garcia, Acedo Arribas
Hola, the above names are my great great grandparents. They are from Villa Nueva de la Vera. They had a son Tomas Jimenez Canadas who's wife was Ascension Acedo Arribas. Ascension's father was Miguel and her mother was Rita (my great great grandparents as well). I do not know Miguel and Rita's middle and last as it is not on any documents. Both sets of great great grandparents may have had other children, but I do not know. This I do know Ascension did have brothers that were tall men.
Tomas and Ascension left Cardiff in 1913 to Hawaii on the SS Willesden. Tomas and Ascension had a son Raymond and a daughter Antonia. Antonia died. Raymond is my grandfather. In the United States he was called Raymond Acedo Jimenez, which does not fall with the great tradition of Spain. He married Margaret Ruiz Galvan (who's family was from Andalucia). They had four children: Thomas, Joyce, James, and Mariana. Mariana is my mother. This is my story... this is my family... Can you help???

Lopez and Montero
My great grandparents and grandparents came from Spain in 1911 to the Hawaiian Island to work on the Hakalau Sugar Cane Plantation. Then in 1914 they Moved to California. They were aboard the S.S. Willesden. I belong to Club Espanol in Rockling, CA. Members are descendents of the Spanish immirgrants. One of our members has alot of info regrading the immirgrants. One of our members Sal Garcia just passed away. Wonder if there could be a connection?
