Re: Antonio Casanova from Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Gerona, ca. 1800
Susan,
First, I must thank you for your generous act of kindness and service in looking for my 3X-ggf, Antonio Casanova, in Sant Feliu. I will be sure to "pay the favor forward", as we all do at times.
Certainly, this is a disappointment, in the sense that the information from Platt is, apparently, incorrect; but it is heartening to know that the area has been searched, even if it produced negative results.
It is entirely possible that Platt was referring to the origin of the family, or that he had the area wrong, or even that he was simply wrong. I do know, however, that, in a baptismal record from Costa Rica, Antonio Casanova, the father, is said to be "natural de Cataluña", so I must keep looking.
Thanks again, and best wishes, Lawrence
