Hi! It seems I've hit the current limit of ancestry.com with information from Spain. I'm trying to find information about the Andolz family form Alcañiz, Aragon. My great-grandfather (Pablo Andolz y Barvadío) and,I believe, my great-great granfather (Julián Andolz y Mora) were both from Alcañiz. My grandfather (Francisco Andolz y Aguilar) was born in Zaragoza, though. Any help in helping me trace my tree further back would be helpful. Thanks,

Hola. Gracias.

Trying to locate my family connection in Spain.

I am trying to locate information for my family tree on the Spanish connection to our family.
My maternal grandfather’s side of the family is from Spain originally. I have a huge amount of information on my grandfather and his siblings and their families for the California, USA branches. The breakdown is with the link to Spain.
My grandfather’s grandmother’s name: Catherine Dias (Diaz). We always spelled with an “s”. Born in Spain approximately 1835/1840??? The story is she was sent to Mexico to live and gave birth to her daughter crossing the Atlantic aboard ship. Her daughter’s name was Victoria Dias born in 1863. They settled in Sonora, Mexico. (Is Catherine the correct spelling in Spanish? The family has always spelled it as I show. Perhaps there is a different spelling?)
My grandfather’s father’s name was Martin Segoria (Segovia,Sagoria, Sagovia). Our family has always spelled it Segoria. Martin was born in 1849. Some family members think he was born in Spain, some think Mexico.
Martin and Victoria married either in Mexico or here in Napa, California, USA. I think from some of the local church documents they may have been married in California.
I am hoping someone can help me.
Thank you,
Susan Chilton
Does anyone have any information about this family?
I am trying to locate my Collazo family. I'm desperately looking for some help in locating my grandfather Juan Collazo BarPortla (born 1870) and his family. The family was force to flee Spain in one of their revolutions about 1880. Juan, his five brothers and sister were orphaned as a result of the fighting. Juan's father was a Spanish Consular diplomat posted in Portugal. The children were all sent to Puerto Rico as a safe heaven. My grandfather Juan was born in 1870 and was about five years old when they left Spain. Supposedly, they live in Cadaques and Barcelona Spain and sailed from Barcelona to PR. I have no records of who his siblings were and where they lived in PR. Juan I think live in Ponce, but some of the family lived in Utuado(?).I would greatly appreciate any information available from any of the Collazo descendance scattered all over the world.
Robert
robertwilson09@att.net

I think you may have some erroneous information. I am descended from the Yorbas and Avilas, both of whom intermarried with the Serranos, so I, too, have been researching Francisco Serrano along with other descendents.

One thing for certain is that Francisco Serrano is not listed among those in the Portola-Serra Expedition of 1769. Also you seem to think Francisco was born around 1700. The date we have is 1744. He does not appear in the census reports in California until the 1780s-1790s and in various areas, incl. San Diego and Los Angeles as a pobladoro and later as a private soldier.

What seems likely is that he was some relative of de Anza's wife Maria Perez Serrano and lived in Arizpe, Sonora, Mexico and consequently was a member of the de Anza Expedition to Monterrey in the 1770s, then made his way to Los Angeles.

Got a potential thread; There was one noble de Urrea family in Zaragoza between 1600 - 1750. Don Antonio de Urrea (born 1675 catalayud, child of Don Fernando de Urrea y Aragon and Dona Isabel Tomas Jayme) married Dona Josefa de Burgos (child of Don Pedro Francisco de Burgos and dona Ursula Alfay)in 1704 and got at least following children;

1. Josefa Isabel Manuela de Urrea b. 1715 (Zaragoza)
2. Manuela Josefa Ramona de Urrea b. 1719 (Zaragoza)
3. Francisca Ignacia Ramona de Urrea b. 1721 (Zaragoza)
4. Antonio de Urrea y Burgos b? (+ 1736). Married to Dona Rosa Mendieta (children; 1. Valero Montengon de Urrea, 2. Francisca Ignacia de Urrea, 3. Lamberto de Urrea)

If anyone knows more about this family it would be very intersting. In particular did Antonio and Josefa have more children and any linkage to conde de Aranda (Ximenez de Urrea)

In case someone is interested in this family I have quite a bit of more info.
How should one proceed?

Further, there is an old family story that he escaped Spain, changed his name from Marquis Joseph de Urrea to Joseph Galindo d'Urrea.
I am researching my great grandfather, Francois Regla or de Regla form Hecho or Echo. He married Andrea (or Andressa) Serrano, a seamstress and was disowned by his family. He and Andrea went to Oloron-Ste. Marie in Bearn in Southern France where they had two children, Pierre (my grandfather) and a daughter who died in childhood.

Jeanne

Nueva York. Oprime aquí:Cargo ships

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~prraices/cargo_ship...

Ariel Blondet
