I would very much like to connect with your aunt to see if she could help with my family search. I had no idea that anyone in my family history was from Madeira until I found a record of my 3x great grandfather, Joseph Reed, that showed he was born in Madeira in 1834. He died in the US after 1914. The record shows that his mother's name was Constantina (no family name) and no name listed for his father. He was a cooper by profession which he probably learned in Madeira.
