The Suveric first went to Sao Miguel. That is where my grandmothers family the (da) Silva's boarded. It sailed on 5 Oct 1906. The second port of call was Funchal, Madeira where my grandfathers family (Gomes) boraded. On 10 Oct 1906 the Suveric sailed for Hawaii. The Suveric arrived in port on 1 Dec 1906. If you google the ship, either S.S. Suveric or just Suveric, it will pull up a wealth of information including the port master's story when the ship arrived in Hawaii. If you pass along an e-mail address I will send you copies of the Alien Passenger Manifests for Sao Miguel and Madeira. Just remember the one for Sao Miguel will say St. Michael's. As for getting to and from each of the archapelago's I'm sure they had some type of merchant ships going between them you could buy passage on. I just do not know how to find that information. Nor do I know if the Suveric made more than one trip to Hawaii/mainland USA.
