Surnames: Buitendijk, Mange, Fontein
I am searching for any relations to my paternal grandparents
who lived firstly in Goes, Zeeland and more latterly on Laan van Meerdervoort, Den Haag. My grandfather, Leendert Buitendijk was still living in 1947 and my grandmother, Leuntje Buitendijk-Mange was still alive in 1952. My uncle Marinus Buitendijk lived on the same street in Den Haag and was an antique dealer there. Please inform as soon as possible if you know of any family, Many thanks.

Surnames: Buitendyk Buitendijk
My original name was spelled: Buitendijk and, when I changed my citizenship, became: Buitendyk.
My direct father, though born in Amsterdam, his father (my paternal grandfather) was born/raised in Piershil, where all his forefathers originated from and the surrounding areas, including the Schiedam area as well as Den Haag et al.

If there are ties? We could do some exploring.

Greetings from Bill Buitendyk.

Hi Bill, Thanks for writing. My maiden name back in the early 1800s was spelled Buijtendijck. These people came from Groote Lind (Zwaandrecht) and the earliest date I have is 1731- Andries, Hendrik Hz, Cornelis Hz and Jan Hendrikzen all Buijtendijck. My parents immigrated to Canada, Alberta, and since my husband and I have retired to Victoria British Columbia.
Maybe, just maybe there is a connection between you and I. Hope to hear, Joy Westalnd

Hi Luke, Thanks a lot for your help. The people you write of are my grandparents. Since I posted the bulletin, 2001, my husband and I have been to Nederland 3 times and we went to Zeeland to find relatives and info. The archives there were very helpful and I can now go back to 1731 when the family still lived in GrooteLind (Zwaandrecht). Before that I have no info. My main target now is to find some confrimation of my parents' marriage in Baarn, July 4, 1932. My father's name: Pieter Buitendijk and my Mom's name Alida Hendrika Vitringa-Spruitenburg. I located this on her passport but the Baarn People had no info for me. Hope you might have a suggestion. If I can help you in any way, please write. I live in Victoria BC Canada and my email is joywest@shaw.ca Thanks, Joy

Hi Bill, only just stumbled on this thread. I am a Buitendijk by marriage to Jan Leendert Buitendijk son of Jan Buitendijk and Johanna Caterina Smit.(Both born in 1917.) Father in law was born and grew up in Sloterdijk, Amsterdam. My in Laws stem from the Amsterdam branch of the family.

If this branch is of any interest please get in touch. I am English and since the death of my husband I now live in England
