I am looking for records of where my ancestors came from in The Netherlands.
On the surname list is the original spelling of my family name which has since been changed somewhat.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks.

Voshol, etc

I'm trying to understand the ethnicity of my father's family name. I appreciate any assistance or data that could point me in the right direction.

Thank you!

Hi Lizet, the information you give is rather vague.

There were many, many men called Abraham Jan Voshol living in Zeeland over the ages, probably still are. For instance, my great grandfather was called Abraham Jan Voshol (from St Annaland) and one of his sons was also called Abraham Jan Voshol (born in St Annaland on 11 January 1906 and died on 6 May 1993 at Nieuwekerk, I think). It's a very common name. Perhaps you could find out what his date of birth was, or at least his birthplace and go from there. The online archive of Zeeland might be a good place to start your quest:

Good luck!
