Does anyone know of a service or person who can translate dutch birth/marriage/death records from the 1800's? I have links to about 10 records that are relevant to my family tree. Thank you.

I can do that for you.....
Just not this coming week, since I will be away on vacation. If you are willing to wait a bit and send me the links (or post them here), I will give it a go in about a week and a half.

Kind regards,
Marianne

Yeah I would be happy to translate some for you as well as long as it is not too much.

Let me know, I can't seem to contact you personally, I wonder if it is a membership thing.

If you like you can email me at lbaars@telus.net

Hi-thank you if you can still help. This is my 4x grandfather, Herman Epker, #109 at the follwing link.

I believe this is the death of his father, Engelbert Epker.

I can just quickly give you the gist of it:
Birth record:
Child: Herman Epker
Born 27 Oct 1824 11:30 PM in the city of Enschede, Overijssel
Father: Engelbert Epker 29 yo day laborer
Mother: Catharina Sandberg 27 Spoelster (winding spun thread onto a spool?)
no address given just "at his house"

Death record:
Deceased: Engelbert Epker 46 factory worker
Born at Epe Kingdom Prussia
husband of Catharina Sandberg (so she is still alive at this time)
Died on 5 Feb 1840
Place of death" Walstraat (or Nalstraat?) 595 Enschede, Overijssel
Father: Willem Epker (when he was alive) Shoemaker
Mother: Elizabeth Hoff
mother and father both lived and died at Epe.

I dont think it is the Epe in Gelderland, just Google Epe, Germany and you will almost certainly find the right town. Metelen the town where his wife Catharine was born is nearby.

To take the tree further back I don't know if the records for Epe and Metelen are digitized, but you can get the Church records (Catholic) for those towns on microfilm from LDS. Good luck.

Thank you very much. It is a huge help! I will see what I can find from the LDS for Epe.
