February - 2015;

Hello,

As historian and biographer of the Dutch industrialist (margarine) Sam van den Bergh (1864-1941), one of the three founding fathers of Unilever, I am researching the Peeters- Cordeweener relation(s) as well.
I know about the Hertogenbosch and other detail of the Cordeweeners; Joannes Peeters architect (Bruxelles) was married to the sister of Willem and Joseph Cordeweener etc. illem Cordeweener was at the aftermatch of Batlle of Sedan (september 1870) etc.
I am very much interested in details of Joannes Peeters who is supposed to habve introduceer margarine from Paris to Holland in 1871.
So please contact me at culthis@euronet.nl

Hello,

I am a descendant of the Peeters and Cordeweener family. My grandmother's grandmother was Marie Antoinette Wilhelmina Cordeweener, married to Jean Baptiste "Desire" Peeters. My grandmother was Desiree Peeters. There is quite a bit of information on the web about the margarine industry etc. Glad to help if you'd like; unfortunately for the family, the Cordeweener lost their court battle against Jurgens in regards to the manufacture of margarine. As know, Uniliver which was started by Jurgen is now a huge mega company worldwide!
