My mother was a Nijst. She came from Heerlen, but her father was from Maastricht. You were very helpful in putting me in touch with someone who had done a lot of work on the Nijst family.

Eduard Antoine Joseph Nijst was the son of Hubertus Phillipus Nijst and Marie Camile Elise Hermanns. Marie's parents were Edouard Hermanns and Marie Sibille Dolhaine. Edouard was from Germany. I found one document which suggests that his father was Franscisus Hermanns and that they were from Haaren, near Aachen. Is there a way to confirm this or learn more about his family? Thank you
I have no idea where to go for German records. Hope all is well with you. By the way, there are also some of my Nijst family in Australia... Brisbane... I believe that is where you are from... if I remember correctly
