Thank you for that information! I am very excited to learn that Harmina's grandchildren are still alive and living near Groningen! The last contact we had with the family was back in the 1950s when one Harmina's nephews visited her. I believe she was over 80 years old at that time and unfortunately we had not contact information for her children or grandchildren. Do you know Harmina well enough to ask her if she would be willing to accept an email or letter from her relatives in the United States. I would very much like to ask Harmina about her grandmother to learn more about her life.
There were five Boekweg and Kap families who left Groningen between 1899 and 1907 and they all settled together in Ogden, Utah. The five families had more than 50 children between them, but only two remained in the Netherlands (Harmina and one of the Kap children). For that reason, I am very interested in learning more about Harmina.
