I wrote you about the children of Jan van der Broek and Martje Arends Kruizinga.
I wondered what happened to the eldest daughter Trijntje (also written as Trientje) van der Broek, born October 8, 1849 in Uithuizermeeden, province Groningen.
Trijntje van der Broek married on December 29, 1870 in Appingendam, province Groningen to Harm Mooi. He was born on April 2, 1844 in Farmsum, Delfzijl, province Groningen. Martje Kruizinga, the mother of Trijntje, was present at this marriage in 1870.
They have had 8 children. One died early.
Harm Mooi and Trijntje (Trientje, Tryntje) van der Broek left Holland in 1902 to North America with their three youngest children. The children were Hindrikje (F) Mooi, born on March 21, 1885 in Tjamsweer, Appingendam, Groningen, Hendrik Anne (M) Mooi, born March 15, 1888 in Tjamsweer, Appingendam, Groningen and Harm (M) Mooi, born December 12, 1891 in Appingendam, Groningen.
They arrived on May 11, 1902 and sailed with the ship SS (Steam Ship) Noordam from Rotterdam to New York. Their destination was “Englewood, Ill” (when I read this well)
On the ship record Trijntje van der Broek was called Trijntje Mooi.
The information about the other children is:
Martje Mooi (F), born August 31, 1871 in Uitwierde, Delfzijl, Groningen
Jan Mooi (M), born September 15, 1873 in Uitwierde, Delfzijl, Groningen
Kornelia Mooi (F), born October 18, 1877 in Wirdum, Loppersum, Groningen. She died on November 3, 1877 in Wirdum, Loppersum, Groningen
Trientje Mooi (F), born January 27, 1879 in Wittewierum, Ten Boer, Groningen
Geuke Mooi (M), born May 6, 1882 in Wirdum, Loppersum, Groningen
So, Trijntje Mooi, born van der Broek, went also to America.
I hope this information is useful.
