Background of a family name

Background of a family name

Posted: 21 Mar 2015 3:23AM GMT
Classification: Immigration
Surnames: Jakisch
I do not believe Jackisch is a Dutch last name? Anyone else come across this name? I think it is a German last name. I have found this name came to Groningen in the early 1920's. Any tips on where to look for some background on this name would be helpful.

Hello ?

I found a mention of this advertisement, in which the name Schoers is also mentioned
Mention:
Josef Jackisch
Main person:
Schroers
Event:
Diversen
Date:
September 1953
Event place:
Goch

It has to do with the divorce of this persons, does that ring a bell?

Groom Ernst Wilhelm Schroers Crefeld (Pruisen) 35
Father Carl Otto Schroers
Mother Catharina Binger
Bride Hendrika Elisabeth Latour 's Gravenhage 28
Father Adolph Marinus Latour
Mother Hendrika Elisabeth Fortuin

Marriage date 18-10-1917
and:

Groom Carl Otto Schroers
Bride Anna Maria Catharina Binger
Date of divorce 28-07-1898
Marriage date 20-05-1874
Remarks akte nr. 49; bruidegom wonende te Crefeld en bruid te 's Gravenhage

Then I do find persons named Jackin
-Petronella Hermina Jackin, born in East Indien, Makkasar, married to Alexander Smith Thomson, found them in The Hague :
http://denhaag.digitalestamboom.nl/(S(1dxj01bjyepwe1sx2uhvlj...

Then in Eindhoven, Population Registration, several Jackin's
http://eindhoven.digitalestamboom.nl/scan.aspx?book=R&id...
born in Den Bosch

In Groningen a Antonetta Laurina Jakink , married to Philippus van Elzakker
A daughter of them marries there, she was born in Bergen op Zoom (province Noord-Brabant)

also possible that the name came from Jakink or that Jakink came from Jackin?
With more information, f.e. first names and dates of people you search it would be easier to try to help

This Paul Max Jakisch is a mystery to my family. During World War 2 he was supposedly taken by the German authority back to Germany. He was never heard from again. Why they took him is unknown to me. Paul Max settled in Groningen Netherlands in the early 1900's. His first daughter was born in 1905. He was born 08 June 1861 in Załęże, Katowice, Katowice, Poland. His wife was also German. She was Jozephine Schilmöller.

Hi,
Now I can tell you some more:

When their daughter Wilhelmine Bernardine Jakisch marries in 1904 to Geert Heinrich Evenhuis, the record says that this daughter declared at her marriage that her father left since about 12 yrs ago and no one knows were to or were he could be now (in 1904), also that none of them heard from him again and she and her mother don't know if he's still alive or not.

When their son Georg Johannes Augustus Jakisch marries in 1922 (Groningen) the marriage record says again that they don't know anything about Paul Max so it seems he disappeared about 1892 and left his family behind.
In 1886-1888 (when children are born in Groningen) he's still with his family in Groningen,

When Josephine Schillmoller died on 26-05-1945, she's widow of Paul Max , says the record.
She was born in Wöstendöllen (Germany), You know her parents?

I can try to find him in the Population Registration of Groningen, if there's written to were he left, but I think there wil be nothing there too, otherwise his family would have known also were he went to, I guess.
The name was also written as Janisch, , probably his for Dutch difficult name was written otherwise sometimes then the original name.
Or has someone already looked for him in the Population Registre of Groningen?

Thanks for the post. I looked at this information on Geertje Henderika Evenhuis. That is my aunt. I just want to know something about Paul Max Jakisch. Who were his parents, why did he go to Holland? I just need to push back on that brick wall and spend time looking at it. I do not believe there are any easy answers on Paul Max.
