I appear to have a Maria Catherina Rechtien from Hannover in my family. She was born 11 Dec 1800 and died in USA, either Iowa or Oklahoma between 1895 and 1900. I show her parents as Anton Techtin, b. 1770 and mother Anna Maria. She married Johann Heinrich Lampe, b. 8 Jan 1801 in Paggenschale, Hannover, married 20 Oct 1835, and I think they immigrated in 1851, enenturally settleing in Dyersville, Iowa.

I also show a Margaretha Rechtin, b. abt 1685, who was Maria Elisabeth's great great grandmother. Her husband was Lucas Fischer or Fischering, b. 1685 in Alfhausen.
Do you have any people in your tree who fits these descriptions? I would like to have more information about the family, since I have conflicting information on who Maria Elisabeth Droppelman's parents really are. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I don't know that I can offer much assistance. I do know, according to my father, that the Dropplemann's are relatives. They would have to be distant relatives. I'd be happy to compare notes.

My Rechtien line came to St. Louis by way of New Orleans in 1853 and 1851. They were from Lengerich, Hanover, Prussia.
My earliest Rechtien ancestor is Bernard Rechtin/Rechtien, born Abt 1795. I've not been able to locate the town where he was born or his parents. He died in St. Louis in Jan 1854.

Surnames: Rechtin Rechtien Dobbelmann
Hello, I found this thread while researching the Rechtin/Rechtien line. One of my DNA matches has several Rechtien in her tree while my line is Rechtin. My GG-Grandfather was John Henry Rechtin (1856-1943) who emigrated to USA in 1874. We had been told that his parents died when he was two years old and that he was raised by someone else. The DNA match trees shows a John Henry Rechtien and three siblings, Theodore B Rechtien, Anna M Rechtien, and Wilhelmina Rechtien. There parents were supposedly Herman Henry Rechtien and Elizabeth Dobbelmann. They all were from Hanover. The Rechtiens census recs also show Oldenberg. I am looking for documentation to prove that John Henry Rechtin was the child of Herman Rechien
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
