I am searching for any information or way to find out more about Frederick Heyne.
In 1818 he got married to Wilhemina Hendrikse at the Cape with a reference to him being from 'the Hague', Netherlands.
This is the only information I have found as to where he came from - I have neither birthdate nor parents names.
I know that there were a lot of soldiers that ended up staying at the Cape after their service but I haven't found any list that includes his name on the South African sites.
Does anyone know if the Netherlands kept records of persons who sailed to South Africa - ships lists or other lists?
I am not sure of a Dutch naming pattern - so I can't conclude that he named his children after his parents.
As far as I know the name has not been altered - it appears as Heyne throughout later records.
I assume that this Frederick Heyne may have been born about 1795 - possibly earlier.
