I have an ancestor, Cornelis Jans, who was married in 1723 in the village of Ureterp. I'm having trouble deciphering where he was from -- it was written in the margin, and this particular priest, well, I've seen worse, but he sure didn't write in block letters -- it looks like "van de 8ragten". I'm pretty sure there's no Dutch word or place as "8ragten". Any thoughts?
