Like Paul, I believe in going to the source information before adding it to my tree. I use others' info as signposts that something might be true, not proof. I have just discovered http://www.zeeuwengezocht.nl/en/search
, where you can search for people who lived in Zeeland. So far I've found:
Izaak Eernisse 1845 birth record
Catholijntje ("Kitty") Eernisse 1844 birth record (married Silas Pooler)
Pieter Jacobus Eernisse 1845 marriage to Catholijntje Beutler.
Although one census shows that Pieter and Catholijntje married in 1842, the official record shows they married in 1845 (acht honderd vijfanvertig), after Maria (Jr.), Catholijntje, and Izaak were born. Does anyone know if it was common to get married AFTER have a child or children?
I discovered this thread by Googling "Eernisse Groede." I was hoping to turn up some live relatives in the region. Has anyone else had any luck?
