My name is Michael Owen Quinn. I've been tracing back my lines and discovered that my ancestor Owen Quinn, born 1806 in Sligo Ireland and married a Catherine Kelly who's brother (unsure of name) is a grand parent of Grace Kelly of Monaco.
Hoping to find out more concerning this line.

My friend's grandfather was a GASTON BELLEGARDE. Her grandmother always told him that they were related to the GRIMALDI and that they fought fot the crown. They lost the trial. All the family comes from Egypt. I just know that Pierre Jean GASTON BELLEGARDE was born in Alexandrie on March 30th 1877 and that he was the son of Pierre GASTON BELLEGARDE and Nunzia GRIMALDI.
Maybe you can help us in our researches. What kind of documents do you have? Are you related to the GASTON BELLEGARDE.

Thanks for replying Sandra, What I posted 6 years or so ago was, "That I found it hard to believe that there isn't more on the KELLY family". This was one of the most loved and popular woman of the 20th century and yes there is a lot on the Majer's and Ranier's family. I have found nothing on g-grandma Kelly, (Brian's wife or kids). I find it unbelievable that we don't know about her family in Mayo. All of the responses are how much and how easy it is to find. I haven't found in 20 years a true family tree on the Kellys, I am not interested in just a male line.

I am looking into the same type of thing - trying to link my Grandfather Michael Gibbons to Grace Kelly's family tree.

A contributor called Terry Walters seems to have quite a lot of info in his database TLWaltersDatabase070201.

Unforunately, he does not have info for Brian's parents but maybe he would have info on Brian's siblings.

His e-mail is tlwalters@voyager.net. I e-mailed him a while back. Whilst he did not have the info I needed he very kindly responded to my message. Maybe he can assist you.

It is pretty well documented that Grace's family came from County Mayo, at least the male Kelly line. What isn't documented is an extended family of any kind on the Kelly side; or at least I can't find it. I have no info on Newfoundland. County Mayo to Philadelphia is the route.

John Henry's father was Brian b.1804, m Honora McLoughlin.
If you go through the previous postings,,10 or so, to yours; you'll get a pretty good grasp as to the current family. Especially postings by Jeannette Rook, though I wouldn't email her she seemed very bothered that I wasn't smarter, even though she never answered my question. I have been searching for quite some time now for Brian's extended family that is where I think I am tied in. I am amazed that there is very little to be found other than the immediate male line.

As I said a few months back I'm interested in a family tree of Princess Grace, not just a lineal male history. You and others have well documented the current and the male Kelly line. I'm especially interested in Brian, his sisters and brothers. Being a good Irish family I am pretty certain that there are more to the clan than just Brian, John Henry, etc.I have searched fairly well and am amazed that it isn't easier.

A public figure is easy to do. It does take sometime. I also did Rock Hudson for the fun of it as well.

People came to me and they were amazed. Especially when I told them Rock Hudson also had a sister.

I was able to go back on both parents.

I dig so deep people ask me how I do it. Well I work on all kinds of leads. Now I know that Princess Grace Baby sister is still alive.

Like I said, I know the Kelly's came from Ireland. The Rainer Family did a search on her. The Irish at the time where considered people that where equivelent to the N word in this country.

However, with the Kelly's and the Kennedy's that all changed for the Irish people.

I will have to pull my notes. I do so much genealogy. I probably did. I know the Kelly's came from Ireland. I know Monaco Almost made a fuss about it. Before she married the Prince.

Most people back then considered the Irish people beneath other cultures.

Almost like using the N word.

Has anyone published a good family tree on Grace Kelly. I keep reading about people with possible ties, as do I supposedly. My gggm was Catherine, Brian's sister or cousin. It's easy to find her direct line but I have never found a sibling tree.

I am, as I stated looking for a family tree with siblings. If that is easy to acess then I would ask that you enlighten me as to her g-grandfather, Brian's sisters and brothers, if any. I am searching for anyone in Monaco who knew Raymond Loewy [the world famous designer, who died in 1986]and his wife Viola nee Erikson [she died in ca 1994].
